Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, track your activity, and improve your user experience.

There are different types of cookies:

  • First-party cookies: Set by the website you're visiting (bigebesikci.com)
  • Third-party cookies: Set by other services (Google Analytics, Brevo, etc.)
  • Persistent cookies: Stay on your device for a set period
  • Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser

2. Cookies I Use & Why

2.1 Essential Cookies (Always Active)

These are necessary for the website to function. I cannot disable these, and neither can you (but you can block them at the browser level).

Cookie Name Purpose Expiration
__Host-theme Stores your dark mode preference 1 year
localStorage Saves theme setting locally (not transmitted) Persistent

2.2 Analytics Cookies (Optional)

These help me understand how visitors use the website. They are optional and can be disabled.

Service Cookies Set Purpose Opt-Out
Google Analytics _ga, _gid, _gat Track page views, user behavior, traffic sources Google Analytics Opt-Out Extension
Firebase Multiple Website analytics and performance monitoring See Google Analytics opt-out above

2.3 Marketing Cookies (Optional)

These help me track form submissions, conversions, and marketing effectiveness. Optional and can be disabled.

Service Purpose Privacy Policy
Google Tag Manager Tracks form submissions and conversions Google Privacy Policy
Brevo (Sendinblue) Tracks email engagement and form interactions Brevo Privacy Policy

2.4 Social Media Cookies (Optional)

If you click links to LinkedIn, Twitter, or other social platforms, their cookies may be set. I do not control these.

3. How Cookies Work

3.1 When You First Visit

  • Essential cookies are set automatically (theme preference)
  • Analytics and marketing cookies are set if you consent (if banner is implemented)
  • Your consent preference is stored in localStorage

3.2 On Subsequent Visits

  • Your theme preference is remembered (dark/light mode)
  • Analytics cookies track that you're a returning visitor
  • Your consent preference is checked

3.3 Data Transmitted

What IS sent to Google/Brevo:

  • Page URLs you visit
  • Form submission events (not the data inside forms)
  • Browser and device information
  • Approximate location (IP-based)

What IS NOT sent:

  • Your actual form data (email, name, etc.) — only event type is tracked
  • Passwords or sensitive information
  • Payment information
